Historic Address by Ashtyako Pourkarim, Leader of the Kurdistan Independence Movement, to the Leaders of the International Community

I, Ashtyako Poorkarim, leader of the Kurdistan Independence Movement, deliver this message from the heart of our occupied homeland — as the voice of a stateless yet living nation — to the awakened conscience of the global community.
This is not a message of grievance, but a defense of a historical truth, of international justice, and a fundamental right of the Kurdish nation: the right to self-determination.

🔹 Mr. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations,
The United Nations, founded in the name of “nations,” cannot remain indifferent to a century of occupation, systematic repression, and genocide against the Kurdish people.
Silence in the face of a nation’s suffering is complicity in its continuation.
Isn’t it time for the UN to recognize and support the Kurdish people — one of the largest stateless nations in the world — within the framework of the UN Charter and the rights of nations?

🔹 Mr. Donald Trump, President of the United States of America,
In the most difficult regional crises — from the war against ISIS to the resistance against Saddam Hussein and the Islamic Republic of Iran — it was the Kurds who stood beside you as loyal and reliable partners.
But how is it possible that individuals like Tom Barrack — who neither understand the historical and ethnic realities of the Middle East nor care about justice, and who have openly opposed the Kurdish cause in Rojava — are appointed as U.S. political representatives in Syria?
And how can Brett McGurk — who likewise opposed Kurdish aspirations in Bashur (Southern Kurdistan) — still enjoy the trust of your foreign policy establishment?
These appointments are not only strategic miscalculations, but direct blows to the historical trust between us and the United States.
We want to preserve this strategic partnership — both in the path of toppling the Iranian regime and in rebuilding a new Middle East.

🔹 Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic,
Your support for Kurds in Bashur and Rojava in recent years has been meaningful, and we are grateful for it.
But silence in the face of the Islamic Republic’s crimes against the Kurdish people in Eastern Kurdistan is an unjust silence.
France, as the heir to the Revolution, must bravely reconsider its colonial legacy — including Sykes-Picot and Lausanne — treaties that divided our nation among four occupying states.
Is it not time for France, as the heir to revolutionary values, to review this colonial legacy and support historical justice for the Kurdish nation?
Is it not time for France to formally and openly support the establishment of an independent Kurdish state?

🔹 Mr. Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of Germany,
Your nation, having itself suffered division and occupation during two world wars, should understand the meaning of statelessness and lost sovereignty more deeply than any other.
The German government’s silence regarding historic and ongoing crimes against the Kurdish people — from Halabja and Shingal to Kermashan, Ilam, Diyarbakir, Kobane, and Qamishli — is not only regrettable, but incompatible with Germany’s democratic values.
We expect your government, as the voice of European reason, to support the legitimate demands and human rights of the Kurdish people.

🔹 Mr. Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom,
Britain was one of the architects of the bloody borders of the Middle East. The Sykes-Picot Agreement not only fragmented our nation, but also laid the foundation for today’s chaos.
Your government helped draw the artificial borders of the Middle East — borders drawn with the blood of the Kurdish nation.
Today, in the 21st century, it is time for the UK to acknowledge its historical responsibility and support the independence of Kurdistan as restitution for its colonial legacy.
A nation that has stood with democracy in the east, west, south, and north of Kurdistan deserves your strategic support.

🔹 Leaders of NATO,
Turkey, as a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, daily targets Kurdish civilians in Rojava, Bashur, Bakur, and even within Syrian and Iraqi territory using drones and artillery.
Is NATO meant to be a defender of democracy or a partner to states engaged in the genocide of occupied peoples?
You cannot speak of Western values while turning a blind eye to your ally’s crimes.
Is NATO a guardian of democracy or a silent observer of state-sponsored genocide?

🔹 Leaders of the European Union,
Values such as human rights, justice, and liberty mean nothing without practical commitment.
The Kurds — numbering over seventy million — are still deprived of the most basic political right: an independent state.
Your silence violates the very principles you claim to uphold.
Europe’s silence in the face of this injustice is in clear contradiction with its declared values.

🔹 The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab League,
Do you not see the occupation and aggression by the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and Syria against the Kurdish people?
If oppression is condemned in your faith and tradition, then why do you remain silent in the face of injustice toward the Kurds?
The Islamic Republic of Iran, with its nuclear ambitions, is a threat to all of you.
Alliance with the Kurdish people is not only a moral imperative — it is a necessity for regional security.

🔹 Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, and the People of Israel,
You, more than any other nation, understand the pain of exile, of lost homeland, and the struggle for survival.
We too have walked that path.
Today, we ask you to boldly support the establishment of the state of Kurdistan.
We view your strikes against the infrastructure of the Islamic Republic’s terror machine as steps toward the liberation of oppressed nations.
We are ready to stand alongside the people of Israel in building a new order in the Middle East — an order without terrorism, without fundamentalism, and without the Islamic Republic.
We can be Israel’s greatest strategic ally in the new Middle East.

🔹 To all democracy-seeking nations of the world,
Lasting peace in the Middle East is impossible without justice for the Kurdish people — otherwise, it remains an illusion.
We are a nation with its own history, language, culture, and land. The only missing element in our equation is a formal and independent state.
Support federalism in Bashur, self-governance in Rojava, and the right to self-determination in Eastern Kurdistan.
In designing the new Middle East, an independent Kurdish state must hold a central position.
An independent Kurdistan is not a threat — it is a guarantor of stability, security, and strategic development in the region.
For more than a century, we have been victims of colonial agreements, global silence, and occupation-driven alliances. But we will no longer remain silent.
The independence of Kurdistan is not merely a national aspiration — it is a geopolitical necessity, and the cornerstone of a peaceful and balanced Middle East.

Today, you stand at a historic crossroads:
Stand with truth, or once again side with occupation and tyranny.
We have chosen our path.
Now it is your turn.
