Special Report – London Kurdish Presence and Support for Israel in the National March for the Release of Israeli Hostages from Hamas

On Sunday, August 10, 2025, the central streets of London witnessed one of the largest recent gatherings in support of the release of hostages. This national march, attended by thousands of citizens, human rights activists, Jewish organizations, and supporters of freedom, began at Lincoln Inn Fields and continued to Downing Street, the official residence of the UK Prime Minister.

Participants gathered from 2:00 PM, and the official march commenced at 3:00 PM. The main slogan of the event was “Let Them All Go,” with attendees wearing yellow ribbons—the symbol of solidarity with the hostages—calling for the immediate release of all captives. Organizers warned that “time is running out” and stressed that this is an urgent humanitarian matter.

Among the crowd, the visible presence of Kurds carrying the Kurdistan flag in support of Israel drew significant attention. Unfortunately, this presence was met with hostile reactions from a group of Iranian fascists—including monarchists and royalists—who could not bear the sight of the Kurdistan flag. They resorted to verbal abuse against the Kurdish nation and homeland, including obscene insults. This incident once again demonstrated that the Islamic Republic, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization, and Iranian monarchists share the same hostility toward the Kurdish people.

One brave activist from Eastern Kurdistan (under Iranian occupation), holding the Kurdistan flag, was subjected to these verbal attacks. In defense of his national identity and in solidarity with Israel, he confronted these fascist elements. As a result of this confrontation, he was arrested by the police.

The bitter reality is that wherever Iranians are present, Kurds are often unsafe and subjected to attacks by these groups. Inside Iran, the Islamic Republic executes, kills, or imprisons Kurds on a daily basis, while outside Iran, so-called Iranian opposition groups and self-proclaimed democracy advocates continue the same policies of repression and hatred toward non-Persian nations—viciously targeting Kurds, Baluch, Arabs, and other oppressed peoples.

Furthermore, Iranian fascists have attempted to play the victim by releasing videos of the incident, deliberately distorting the facts to make it appear as if Kurds attacked them without cause, whereas in reality, these verbal and physical assaults were initiated by them.

The march—organized with the broad support of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the Jewish Leadership Council, the Campaign Against Antisemitism, student federations, and dozens of civil society organizations—delivered a clear message to the UK government, the United Nations, and the Red Cross:

“No excuses—none from the Prime Minister, the government, the United Nations, the Red Cross, or from our own community. Today, August 10, we all took to the streets of London to raise our voices. This responsibility lies with each and every one of us. Make no mistake, this is a matter of life and death.”

Today’s march not only symbolized global solidarity for the release of the hostages, but also exposed the true face of Iranian fascism to public opinion. Once again, Kurds proved that they stand with the people of Israel—even if the price is to face hate speech, truth distortion, and arrest.
