On Monday, the 28th of Banamar 2726 in the Kurdish calendar, corresponding to 18 May 2026, leaders of the Kurdish, Baloch, Ahwazi Arab and Azeri Turkish nations participated in a meeting at the British Parliament.
The meeting was organised by the Centre for Kurdish Affairs and held in one of the halls of the British Parliament, with the participation of Bambos Charalambous, Member of the British Parliament.
During the meeting, a number of issues related to the future of the non-Persian nations and the future of Iran in general were discussed and analysed. Each participant presented their views and positions on these matters.
Mr Ashtyako Poorkarim, Secretary-General of the Kurdistan Independence Party, accompanied by Mr Goran Dashti, member of the Political Bureau of the party, attended the meeting and met with a number of foreign figures as well as Baloch, Ahwazi, Azeri and other leaders.
During these meetings, the Secretary-General of the party, while referring to the situation in the region and stressing the necessity of strengthening relations among the political forces and movements belonging to the non-Persian nations, stated:
From the perspective of the Kurdistan Independence Party, the future of this geography upon which the name Iran has been imposed does not lie in preserving a geography called Iran. In the future, a unified country called Iran, in its present form, will not remain; it will collapse. The nations whose homelands have been occupied will establish their own political entities and independent states. It is not unlikely that the Yugoslav model may also be repeated in the case of Iran. In such a situation, the nations whose lands have been occupied will attain freedom, and security, peace and stability will be strengthened across the region and the world as a whole.
The parties, movements and figures who met with representatives of the Kurdistan Independence Party included:
Bambos Charalambous, Member of Parliament from the Labour Party
Siamand Moeini, member of the Leadership Council of PJAK
Dr Khalaf Kaabi, Head of the Foreign Committee of the Ahwazi Arab Movement, Harakat al-Nidal — ASMLA
Abdullah Baloch, President of the Raji Zrombesh Party of Balochistan
Jamshid Amiri, President of the United Front of Balochistan
Rahim Bandui, Deputy of the Balochistan People’s Party
Mahmud Bilgin, Spokesperson of the South Azerbaijan Democratic Party
Mehrab Sarjui, Baloch political figure
In addition, a number of foreign and British political figures and personalities were also present.
