Eight political organizations belonging to nations under Iranian oppression and occupation issued a joint statement in response to the positions expressed in the statement of the “Iran Freedom Congress.”
The signatories emphasized that the question of the Ahwazi Arab, Kurdish, Baloch, Azerbaijani Turk, Turkmen and other nations will not be resolved merely by changing the government in Tehran. Rather, ending the occupation, recognizing national rights and guaranteeing these nations’ right to self-determination must be placed at the centre of any political plan for the future.
The statement also called upon the United Nations, democratic governments and international institutions to recognize the nations under oppression and occupation as principal parties with rights in the region’s future developments.

The organizations of the nations under Iranian oppression and occupation, while emphasizing the right of nations to enjoy freedom, security and lasting peace, declare that the statement of the “Iran Freedom Congress” continues to disregard the existing multinational reality, deny the historical and legal rights of the nations under oppression and occupation, and reduce the issue solely to a change of government in Tehran.
The reality is that the current crisis is not merely the result of recent developments, but the product of decades of aggressive, occupationist and expansionist policies pursued by the anti-human regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Through widespread human rights violations, executions, the systematic repression of nations under occupation, the export of instability to the region, the creation and support of proxy groups, and the expenditure of the wealth and resources of occupied territories on military and expansionist objectives, this regime has laid the foundations for today’s crises and wars.
Condemning the consequences of war without referring to its principal cause means ignoring the existing realities. Primary responsibility for the current situation lies with a regime that has built its survival upon occupation, domestic repression, the export of crises and threats to regional security.
We emphasize that the question of the Ahwazi Arab, Kurdish, Baloch, Azerbaijani Turk, Turkmen and other nations under occupation is not merely a matter of changing one government. Rather, it concerns ending the occupation and recognizing their right to self-determination on the basis of the United Nations Charter and the established principles of international law. No government, party or political movement has the right to decide on behalf of these nations regarding their political future and destiny.
Historical experience has also shown that fascist and occupying regimes that support terrorism never abandon their repressive and expansionist policies without effective political, legal, economic and international pressure. They are compelled to retreat only when confronted by the firm determination of the international community and the resistance of nations.
The organizations of the nations under Iranian oppression and occupation believe that lasting peace, security and stability will be achieved only when the occupation of the lands of oppressed nations ends, their rights are recognized, and their right to self-determination is guaranteed without any conditions or restrictions.
We call upon the United Nations, democratic governments and international institutions to recognize the nations under oppression and occupation as principal parties with rights in every political initiative concerning the future of the region, and to support their legitimate rights in accordance with the standards of international law.
