Nahid Boostani, a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Independence Party and one of the Bakhtiari Kurds of Eastern Kurdistan, has been elected as the new spokesperson of the Alliance 90/The Greens (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) parliamentary group in the Council for Migrants, Integration and Integration of the city of Ludwigshafen in Germany.
According to a report published by the Greens’ parliamentary group in Ludwigshafen City Council, members of the Greens’ group in the “Council for Migration and Integration” (Beirat für Migration und Integration), during an official meeting, elected Nahid Boostani to assume responsibility as spokesperson for the group.
The Ludwigshafen Council for Migration and Integration is one of the official advisory institutions of the city in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
The council works on issues and matters related to migrants, their social and political participation, and policies concerning integration and the participation of migrants at the municipal level.
Nahid Boostani holds a master’s degree and has a background in industrial design and graphic design. After settling in Germany, she expanded her participation in the social and political life of Ludwigshafen and, in 2024, stood as a candidate on the Green Party list for membership in the Council for Migrants and Integration. Her continued activities within the council ultimately led to her election as spokesperson of the Greens’ parliamentary group.
Following her election to this position, Boostani stated that in her new role she would work to pursue the issues, demands and interests of migrants.
At the same time, Nahid Boostani is a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Independence Party and continues her political activities within the Kurdistan Independence Party. Her election to this position in one of the official institutions of the city of Ludwigshafen represents a new step in her political and civic participation within Germany’s local institutions.
