The Kurdistan Independence Party extends its sincere condolences on the passing of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway to the Royal Family, the Government, and the people of Norway.
During more than three decades on the throne, King Harald V held an important place in Norway’s public life. As Head of State, he consistently emphasised democratic values, tolerance, social cohesion, and respect for human dignity. His presence, particularly during difficult periods and moments of national tragedy, was for many Norwegians a symbol of stability and unity.
The Kurdistan Independence Party expresses its sympathy and respect to the Royal Family and the people of Norway at this time of mourning and honours the memory and public service of King Harald V.
King Harald V was born on 21 February 1937 in Skaugum, Asker, Norway. He became King of Norway on 17 January 1991 following the death of his father, King Olav V, and reigned for more than 35 years.
The Royal Court of Norway announced that King Harald V passed away peacefully on Friday, 28 August 2026, at 6:35 a.m. at Oslo University Hospital, Rikshospitalet, at the age of 89.
May his memory be honoured and may he rest in peace.

Kurdistans uavhengighetsparti uttrykker sin dypeste sorg og sine oppriktige kondolanser i anledning bortgangen til Hans Majestet Kong Harald V.
Vi sender vår medfølelse til kongefamilien, Norges regjering og hele det norske folk i denne sorgens stund.
Gjennom mer enn tre tiår som Norges konge tjente Kong Harald V sitt land med verdighet og ansvar. Han ble for mange et symbol på stabilitet, samhold og respekt for demokratiske verdier, toleranse og menneskeverd. Hans lange tjeneste og hans rolle i Norges moderne historie vil bli husket med respekt.
Kong Harald V ble født 21. februar 1937 på Skaugum i Asker. Han besteg tronen 17. januar 1991 etter sin far, Kong Olav V, og tjente som Norges konge i mer enn 35 år. Han døde 28. august 2026, 89 år gammel.
Vi hedrer hans minne og uttrykker vår respekt og solidaritet med det norske folk.
