On the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the Jina uprising, “Woman, Life, Freedom,” an online seminar entitled “Woman, Life, Freedom; From the Uprising to the Future” will be held with the participation of a number of political, civil and human rights activists.

The seminar is jointly organised by “Iran Human Rights Activists” and “Hanay Rojhelat” and seeks, from a political and social perspective, to shed light on the past four years of this uprising, the continuation of repression, the situation of political prisoners and … that still stand before the future of the movement.

Nahid Bostani, a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Independence Party, will be one of the speakers at this gathering. Bostani’s participation in the seminar provides an opportunity to present the views of the Kurdistan Independence Party regarding the Kurdish roots of the slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom,” the relationship between women’s freedom, individual freedom, democracy and the right of nations to determine their own destiny before the audience of this gathering.

Over the past four years, “Woman, Life, Freedom” has not been merely a slogan in the streets. This slogan, which emerged from the soil of Kurdistan, became a common language for a generation demanding freedom, human dignity and the rejection of coercion. At the same time, a heavy price has been paid for this uprising; killings, imprisonment, arrests and continuous pressure on activists and protesters have been part of the reality of these four years.

According to the announced programme, alongside Nahid Bostani, Pouran Nazemi, Hamid Amini, Hana Moaouni, Diako Mouloudi, Ghazal Mehandi, Ali Allah Waisi and Kamal Khazri are also among the speakers at the seminar.

The seminar “Woman, Life, Freedom; From the Uprising to the Future” will be held on Monday, 14 September 2026, corresponding to 23 Kharmanān 1405, at 21:00 East Kurdistan time and 19:30 Central European time, online via Google Meet.

The participation of Nahid Bostani as a representative of the Kurdistan Independence Party is significant because it provides an opportunity to present a Kurdish reading of the Jina uprising; a reading that does not separate women’s freedom from the political and national rights of society and sees a free future as requiring recognition of human rights, individual freedom and the right of nations to determine their own destiny.
