A great man who longed for peace and reconciliation has passed away.
Hearing about the death of the former President of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres, has deeply saddened me.
As a Kurdish journalist from the south of Kurdistan, this news fills me with sorrow and concern for the loss of such an influential political leader who tirelessly advocated for peace in the world.
I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire world, especially to those who strive for peace, and in particular to the State of Israel and its people.
